Makers Dozen have been in Residence at MADE NORTH Gallery, Sheffield, for two weeks now. We have invited the public to engage with our own making process through a series of activities set out by each maker, while also being in the space making our own work.
Jess Loveday, Vinny Ratcliff, and myself have been leaving “kits” for the public to respond to and make with. Reflecting our own work, we have asked visitors to the gallery to respond to the items on the table and engage with our own making processes.
Our Maker Moulds have been interacted with by adding plasticine in wonderful neon colours sourced by Kate Dunstone!
Work has been left on display for contemplation and feedback from visitors.
Michelle Shields has been asking members of the public and all visitors to MADE NORTH to mark her wooden tiles in some way, then she has been taking prints from the wooden blocks throughout the residency.
